The Orange Tree Bar And Grill

Nestled on Newcastle Road in Stoke-on-Trent, The Orange Tree Bar And Grill is one of those places that instantly feels like a weekend retreat-cozy, buzzing, and full of comforting aromas wafting from the kitchen. Whether you're here for a casual weekday bite or looking to slow down with a long Sunday lunch, the place has something magnetic about it. It's easy to see why it’s gained such a loyal local following.

One of the standout features? The atmosphere. Think warm fireplace vibes with modern British decor, paired with a surprisingly sophisticated drinks selection. The space caters to a diverse crowd-early risers catching breakfast, solo diners enjoying a peaceful lunch, or groups settling in for dinner with wine and laughter. The wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating, and car park make it a truly inclusive space for everyone. Plus, the outdoor seating area comes alive in warmer months, perfect for cocktails in the sun.

Let’s talk food-because that's where The Orange Tree really delivers. Their Flattened Steak and Chips is a fan favorite. The steak arrives perfectly seared, tender, and well-seasoned, served with golden chips that hit all the right notes of crisp and fluffy. If you're in the mood for seafood, the Sea Bass is another top pick-light, flaky, and complemented by delicate herbs that don’t overpower the dish. For classic comfort, you really can’t go wrong with the Sunday Roast or a generous helping of Roast Beef Dinner-they’ve nailed the balance between home-style and restaurant-quality here.

The Black and Bleu Burger is a wild card worth trying: smoky beef, rich blue cheese, and a brioche bun that holds its own. If you're feeling adventurous, Garlic Chilli Chicken Skewers offer a bold kick, while the Pork Ribs come glazed, fall-off-the-bone tender, and slightly sticky in the best way possible. Vegetarians and vegans aren’t left out either-dishes like the Cauliflower Steak and Sweet Potato Fritters provide depth of flavor and creativity that go far beyond standard plant-based fare.

For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert menu is an indulgent playground. Their Lava Cake oozes warm chocolate the moment you crack into it, and the Apple Crumble is nostalgia on a plate-crumbly, tart, sweet, and perfectly paired with a scoop of ice cream. Coffee lovers can count on a smooth brew that’s actually worth ordering, while tea drinkers will find a great tea selection to wind down with.

Beyond the food, what really seals the deal is the drink list. The Orange Tree boasts an impressive wine list, plus a great beer selection and a lineup of craft cocktails that feel thoughtfully curated rather than generic. Whether it’s a Tequila Sunrise to kick off a summer evening or a glass of Malbec with dinner, there’s something for every mood. Not to forget, they also serve late-night food, healthy options, and a well-rounded list of small plates-ideal for those who like to sample and share.

From a practical point of view, it ticks all the boxes: no delivery or takeaway, sure, but that only reinforces the dine-in experience as something special. You're meant to sit down, take your time, and really soak in the ambiance. With offerings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and thoughtful touches like vegan and vegetarian options, spirits, beer, and a cozy yet lively environment, The Orange Tree Bar And Grill isn’t just a meal-it’s a full-on experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another Fantastic Visit – Delicious Food & Outstanding Service We've dined here multiple times and the food is consistently excellent – fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. This visit was no exception. What truly stood out was the service. Helena was absolutely amazing – warm, friendly, and attentive, all with a genuine smile. Her enthusiasm and professionalism really elevated our experience. This is exactly how great hospitality should look and feel. The only downside was the noise level – it was quite loud during peak hours. A few acoustic screens or partitions between tables would make a big difference and enhance the overall dining atmosphere. Still, highly recommend for both food and service. We'll definitely be back!

We booked a graduation table for my granddaughter, and it was beautiful! A bottle of prosecco on ice, beautiful balloon display, and in a lovely booth, but still within the fantastic atmosphere! Service was excellent! We will definitely be back! Fabulous!

Whilst service was somewhat slow to begin with, it picked up quickly. Food was phenomenal and the atmosphere is lovely. Very comfortable! Little pricy but the quality is there. Diogo was super helpful, and a fab photographer (thank you again) - was a perfect post festival birthday treat.
